Foster grew 2 inches taller in the spine at the age of 22 within a year by biking vigorously for 18-20 miles daily combined with stretching exercises. Now, his latest successor, Devon, has grown 1 inch taller in the spine at the age of 16 within 3 months by cycling intensely for 30 minutes non-stop and doing inverted sit-ups with 10 lb each hand before bedtime. Devon & Foster’s Lumbar Routine

Bike vigorously using resistance for 40 to 60 minutes daily

Do inverted sit-ups with weights (10 lbs to 30 lbs each hand).. increase the weights every month for quicker growth.

Devon’s Magic Potion for height growth: take 20 to 25 grams of Whey Protein powder (mixed with orange juice, citrus punch, or water) twice daily [total is 40-50 grams daily]. Also drink 2 to 4 glasses of milk daily for more HGH production.

*      What are the similarities between Foster & Devon’s biking success?
- Foster successfully grew 2 inches taller at the age of 22 when he biked vigorously for 20 miles daily (took him 90 minutes) and did some stretching exercises. Devon grew 1 inch taller at the age of 16 when he also biked vigorously for 30 minutes daily and did inverted sit-ups with 10 lb weight each hand. The similarity is that both of them admitted that there’s something magical about the intensity of biking because their height growth seemed to accelerate when done vigorously. Thus by combining vigorous biking and inverted sit-ups, we now have the so-called Devon & Foster’s Lumbar Routine as outlined above for anyone who wants to follow.

In Foster’s own words: “Now the thing I discovered to be most important was that whenever I had weeks where I was extremely active in sport [cycling] I had the gains in height.  It took me a long time to realise this and I grew very frustrated when some weeks I would have gains and others none at all. When I combined the cycling with the stretching I think I gained about 1.5 inches in about 7 to 8 months. *      It’s very difficult to bike vigorously on a stationary bicycle.. It’s just so hard.. I’m not lazy.. but it’s really hard.. 30 minutes on a stationary bike seems like 4 hours! My mind keeps telling me “it’s too painful” .. what should I do?
- You may choose to join one of those fitness clubs that has stationary biking classes. In the U.S., Bally Total Fitness has a stationary biking class which is called “Spinning”. I strongly believe that you’ll have a much better success rate in growing taller when biking seriously in a fitness club rather than biking at home. At home, you’re unlikely to break a good sweat because there’s absolutely no stimulus or encouragement for you to bike harder and harder. As you will see, without INTENSE cycling, you will NOT grow regardless of doing 100 inverted sit-ups w/ weights daily. Don’t be cheap.. invest in $$ and subscribe to Bally or other biking clubs.. the best thing about biking in one of those classes is that you’re always breaking a good sweat and are competing with other bikers. It’s almost effortless and timeless when you bike and compete with 15 other bikers in the class and 1 hour will fly by so quickly since there’s great music too. Some of lumbar experimenters are currently subscribing to Bally’s Spinning class. On the eastcoast, classes are either between 6-7pm or 6:30-7:30 pm Monday to Thurday & Saturday – No classes on Friday or Sunday. *      Did Devon cycle with raised saddle seat to elongate his legs?
- No, Devon was cycling normally on a stationary bike. His intent was to bike as hard as he could so that growth hormones would be secreted dramatically.

*      Devon grew an inch in 2 months and 3 weeks.. or is it in 3 months?

It really makes no difference.. 3-month is a good estimate!

*      If Devon could grow 1 inch taller in 3 months.. does that mean he may have the potential to grow 3 or 4 inches in a year?
- No, it doesn’t work like that. Growing taller is a very gradual process. Your spinal cartilage discs must have sufficient time to grow and develop in order to achieve permanent height gains.
Thus, Devon may have grown 1 inch taller, but he must continue to work hard in the next 4 to 6 months to keep this permanent height. If his growth plates are still open, he may grow 2 or more inches a year. However, if plates closed (like many of us here), then he may have the potential to grow up to 2 inches in a year. According to Foster, he could have achieved 4 inches taller in two years if he were to stick to his routine.

*      Hey sky.. on Devon’s webpage, he said that he's 18 y/o and from Alabama.. isn't he 16 y/o and from Utah?
- I don't know.. but he probably lied about his age on the MySpace webpage so to attract attention from older female companions. He's from Heber City, Utah.

*      I must assume that u have a very good stationary bike.. because any cheap stationary bike out there would be broken in a few weeks due to intense pedaling.. where u bought the stationary bike? how much? what brand?
- Devon’s response: “The brand of stationary bike is a Pro-Form Crosstrainer 970.  I don't know how much it cost because my mom got it awhile a go and i was little so, i betcha it was between $100 to $250 but I don't know for sure.  You can buy one from GNC for like 100 bucks, but I don't know the quality so you and I will have to check into that.” For pictures of Pro-Form Crosstrainer 970, click below:

*      You said that "I have been trying to grow taller for almost 2 years, pretty much since I started High school".. so for the past 2 years you didn't grow anything? .. which means that the recent 1-inch gain could very well come from the intense routine (NOT growth spurt). Can u clarify this clearly?
- Devon’s response: “..this definitely was not a growth spurt, I had one about 3 years ago where i grew like 2 inches in 3 months and it was effortless, but from doing this routine, I really had to fight and push my body and course it into growing.”

*      Would u conclude the your 1-inch gain mostly come from the lower back (NOT the legs)?
- Devon’s response: “The 1 inch gain was definitely from the lower back, actually the middle back.  But you have to lengthen and strengthen, if you just lengthen, you will lose it all.”

*      You only follow the routine mon-friday.. why not saturday/sunday? u needed rest?
- Devon’s response: “I didn't work out on weekends because I felt that my body needed time to repair and heal and grow.  I slept for about 10-12 hours on the weekend because I felt I was really growing then.  And i just needed a break, i mean, you can't push yourself nonstop, because then you will give up, and I almost gave up many times, but you just have to stick with it and listen to your body.”

*      U said "I also got a subliminal tape and hypnosis tape from Laura De Georgio and listened to it before bed".. I must rule out the fact that your growth strictly came from the intense routine and nothing else. Did u listen to hypnosis tape for relaxation or for height increase?.. did hypnosis help u in anyway in growing taller?
- Devon’s response: “Yes most of the 1-inch growth came from the strict lumbar routine, but I think a little little little came from the grow taller tapes.  One hypnotized you to grow taller and one was subliminal so all you heard was music.  I bought these and put them on my Ipod and i think it helped. One night i was listening to the hypnosis one and all of a sudden my legs started tingling and my spine was tingling and I felt that I was growing that second.  It felt really good.  I think the tapes just put my mind into a grow taller state.”

*      How did you get inspired to bike vigorously? (from Foster's story)? why didn't u bike for 40 minutes just like Foster? does the bike electronically tell u that how many miles you've just covered in a 30-min workout?
- Devon’s response: I biked vigorously because I felt I had to because I knew it didn't have the same impact as running, so I thought that 5 minutes of sprinting would produce the same GH response as about 15 minutes of intense biking, so I thought that it had to be intense so I doubled it, simple as that. It has to be intense! I would just get on the bike and bike as hard as I could for 30 minutes and then it would tell me how far I went electronically. I didn't do a preset workout.”

*      Did your posture improve significantly since you've grown 1 inch taller?.. i just want to make sure that your growth came from PURE cartilage growth (NOT just enhanced posture).
- Devon’s response: “My posture didn't really improve, I always kept my back straight anyway and never slouch so it definitely wasn't posture improvement.”

*      So u were drinking lots of milk and taking whey protein supplements.. do u think that such nutritional enhancements are one of the reasons behind your accelerated 1-inch growth?
- Devon’s response: “I also took to scoops of whey protein before bed which was 48 grams of protein with milk, so it was about 56 grams of protein. I drank milk and protein everyday. Increased milk intake definitely increased the growth rate. when I first started the workout I felt weak and tired and didn't grow at all, but the weeks where I drank tons of milk were the weeks that I grew the most. And I also think that increased protein intake helps because that is what makes up some of the cartilage and stuff, and the calcium from milk. So I think that milk and protein is a magic potion basically.”

My name is Devon Bardole. My before height was 5'6 and now I am exactly 5'7.   I grew exactly 1 inch.  I am 16, 17 on May 1st 2007.  I don't think that my growth plates have closed yet, because I am still growing.  My routine was Intense biking for 30 minutes.  I mean intense, like I couldn't go one more minute to be Jessica Simpsons boyfriend.  When I got up, I could barely walk up to my room.  Then I would immediately do at least 60 inverted situps with 10lbs each hand (20 lbs total).  I made a point to do at least 60 situps, sometimes I did 100 or 120, but never less than 60.  the whole workout took about exactly an hour and I would start it at 9:00 pm and end at 10 pm and then go immediately to bed.  I drank about 1/3 of a gallon of milk a day, sometimes more, but I always got at least 30 ounces and I would drink it whenever I could.  I also don't drink pop and am pretty active because I do Le Parkour/Freeunning and acrobatics.  I also took to scoops of whey protein before bed which was 48 grams of protein with milk, so it was about 56 grams of protein.  I did this routine Monday-Friday and drank milk and protein everyday.  The growth seems to be permanent because I am still growing and will update you more in a month or two.  The only supplements I took were whey protein, fish oil, daily vitamin, and vitamin C.  I also did pullups, pushups, and reverse situps every now and then.  All exercises that help strengthen the back.  And I always got at least 8 hours of sleep every night.  I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures, but you have to believe that I am telling the truth.  I hate it when people get hyped up and tell false stories about themselves.  I have been trying to grow taller for almost 2 years, pretty much since I started High school.  I found your website and it seemed too good to be true, everything just made sense to me.  When it warms up a bit, I'll start the shinbone routine and see what happens there. I started it, but running in your room on a treadmill sucks, so I'm going to run outside.  One more thing, your workout has to be intense, you have to push yourself. when I was training I thought in 5 minute increments.  I said "just go 5 more minutes, and then 5 more, and then 5 more" until I was done. It has to be intense.  I also listened to my Ipod and watched movies on it while I biked. (Oh, it was a stationary bike.)  I found out that about 3 or 4 weeks I slacked off and didn't experience any growth even if I did the inverted situps, but once I added intense biking my growth came back up. Push yourselfs! Push yourselfs! Push yourselfs! I actually puked a couple times from biking so hard and I couldn't see because all of the sweat in my eyes. It took me 2 months and 3 weeks to grow one inch, I hope to be 5'9 by summer.  If I can do it anyone can.  You can choose to follow my advice or ignore it, but I know what I did, and I hope you have the desire to take what I say to heart and see for yourself.  P.S.- I also got a subliminal tape and hypnosis tape from Laura De Georgio and listened to it before bed. I tried growing taller by journals and stuff, I bought 2 grow taller books, and they actually increased my height very slightly but when I stopped doing the exercises, I shrank back down.  Besides, you can get temporary height increase just by doing a sitting toe touch for 5 minutes a day.  Ya, but this definitely was not a growth spurt, I had one about 3 years ago where I grew like 2 inches in 3 months and it was effortless, but from doing this routine, I really had to fight and push my body and course it into growing. The 1 inch gain was definitely from the lower back, actually the middle back. I ran with 5 lb ankle weights for about 2 miles nonstop as hard as I could (which by the way really sucked) and then I went home and sat with 25lb weights attached to my legs by wrapping a boxing strap around them and to my legs and stayed there for about 20 minutes. [Sky’s note: Experimenters are encouraged to sit or lie down with iron plates for at least 1 hour for better outcomes. By wrapping several foam layers on the shinbone, it should NOT hurt or bother you at all]. I couldn't really go any longer because it started hurting really bad about 13 minutes in.  Then I would unstrap them and let them drop to the floor and just roll over and turn off the TV and go to sleep. It took me 16 or 17 days to achieve this and it was hell, but it was worth it. All of my growth definitely occurred in the legs. I have also been experiencing some more growing pains since I stopped. I am taking a break until summer and then I'll get really into a hard routine.  Like I said before, you have to give your body a break. And remember to listen to it. If you think that something is wrong, stop.  Well, I'll talk to you again in about 2 months. Oh and I started on some supplements: wheatgrass, kelp, garlic in pill form, alfalfa, and primrose oil.
